you state that changing the title sequence makes it non-PD

but Stellar Films never bothers to register the newly title slapped on product, also on their rental prints of Studio One episodes they do not re-title the opening only the closing to wit :"Stellar Films 1997"

So if I upload His Girl Friday with a title card that says "Bearcor Presents__His Girl Friday (with letters the same size as Howard Hawks of course!!) then that is copyright??

If they're made recently, they don't have to register them. That title card is just to sue people who are too lazy to edit it out if they reproduce the product for sale, in which case, they deserve it!
